[KANDAL, CAMBODIA] – RI Korea recently completed a high-level field mission to the Ang Snuol District in Kandal Province, Cambodia, from November 27 to December 3, 2025. The mission, led by Secretary General Cho Sung-min, focused on evaluating project performance and enhancing the clinical capabilities of local medical professionals under the "Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project."

Comprehensive Performance Monitoring Accompanied by a team of experts in performance management and rehabilitation medicine, RI Korea conducted an in-depth monitoring of the project's 2025 activities. The team visited Borey Kamkor and Prey Tunloab villages to interview local residents and stakeholders, ensuring that the health services provided are effectively meeting the needs of persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups.

Advanced Training for Local Medical Professionals A significant highlight of the mission was the "Continuing Medical Education (CME)" program held at the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital. Specialized trainers, including rehabilitation and internal medicine specialists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, provided intensive training to local medical staff. The curriculum focused on:

• Advanced rehabilitation techniques for physical disabilities.

• Clinical management of chronic diseases common in the region.

• Strengthening the patient referral system between community health centers and referral hospitals.

Sharing Success: The 'Health Keeper' Case Sharing Event To celebrate community-led successes, RI Korea hosted a "Health Keeper Activity Case Sharing Event." This forum allowed local volunteers (Health Keepers) to present their experiences in home-visit monitoring and discuss best practices for supporting health-vulnerable neighbors. The event underscored the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable health equity.

Strengthening Strategic Partnerships During the visit, RI Korea held strategic meetings with key local partners, including the Disability Action Council (DAC) and the Kandal Provincial Health Department (KPHD). These discussions focused on aligning the project with Cambodia’s national disability policies and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the established health systems.
