[KANDAL, CAMBODIA] – RI Korea, in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has successfully completed the installation of advanced medical and rehabilitation equipment at the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital. This initiative, part of the "Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project (Phase 2)," aims to provide high-quality, professional rehabilitation care to persons with disabilities and residents suffering from chronic pain.
Advanced Infrastructure for Comprehensive Care Through an investment of over $31,000, the project has transformed the hospital's Physical Therapy Unit and Training Room into a state-of-the-art facility. Key equipment installed includes:
Rehabilitation Devices: Treatment beds, ultrasound therapy units, and exercise equipment tailored for physical therapy.
Educational Tools: Online and offline training systems to enhance the clinical expertise of local medical staff and facilitate consultations.
Significant Impact on Patient Satisfaction Following the installation, a satisfaction survey was conducted among 27 medical professionals and 20 local residents. The results were overwhelmingly positive, achieving an overall satisfaction score of 3.45 out of 4.0.
Clinical Improvement: Residents reported a high satisfaction score of 3.40/4.0 regarding the improvement of their symptoms through the new rehabilitation programs.
Accessibility: 60% of users visited the facility for chronic pain management, praising the accessibility and convenience of the modernized unit.
A Commitment to Sustainable Health Equity "By equipping the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital with professional-grade rehabilitation tools, we are moving beyond simple aid toward building sustainable medical capacity," said a representative from RI Korea. "This facility now serves as a central hub where residents can receive specialized care that significantly improves their quality of life."
Future Development The newly installed equipment will be used as a primary training ground for local 'Health Keepers' and medical staff, fostering a community-based health network that ensures no one is left behind in accessing essential medical services.
