[KANDAL, CAMBODIA] – RI Korea, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has published the final analysis report of the "2025 Healthcare Service Utilization Survey" in the Ang Snuol District. This landmark study provides a deep dive into the barriers and behaviors of health-vulnerable groups, establishing a critical evidence base for future disability-inclusive health interventions.

Identifying Gaps in Healthcare Access The survey, conducted across the villages of Borey Kamkor and Prey Tunloab, analyzed the medical service utilization patterns of 300 residents, including persons with disabilities and the elderly. The findings highlight a significant reliance on private pharmacies for self-medication and reveal that physical, economic, and informational barriers still hinder many from accessing public health facilities.

Key Findings of the 2025 Report:

• Prevalence of Chronic Conditions: High rates of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as hypertension and gastrointestinal issues, were identified among the aging population and persons with disabilities.

• Barriers to Professional Care: While awareness of public health centers is high, many residents opt for self-treatment due to distance, lack of specialized rehabilitation services, and financial constraints.

• Disability-Specific Needs: The report emphasizes a critical need for integrated physical and medical rehabilitation services, with a current cumulative national reach of over 173,000 beneficiaries requiring more localized support.

From Data to Action: Designing the Future The data collected serves as a strategic roadmap for the "Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project (Phase 2)." Based on these insights, RI Korea and KOICA are prioritizing the following:

1. Strengthening Local Referral Systems: Enhancing the link between community health centers and the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital.

2. Expanding Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR): Utilizing trained 'Health Keepers' to provide home-based monitoring and health education.

3. Policy Advocacy: Presenting the findings to the Cambodian Disability Action Council (DAC) and Provincial Health Departments to support national disability-inclusive health strategies.
