[KANDAL, CAMBODIA] – RI Korea, in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), successfully conducted the 2nd "Health Keeper Capacity Building Training" on October 31, 2025, at the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital. This initiative is a key component of the "Community-Based Health Equity Promotion Project," aimed at strengthening the local health monitoring network.

Empowering Local Health Activists The training brought together a total of 22 participants, including 16 dedicated village activists and 6 medical professionals. The program focused on enhancing home-visit monitoring capabilities, ensuring that health-vulnerable residents—particularly those with disabilities and chronic illnesses—receive consistent and professional care within their communities.

Practical and Case-Oriented Curriculum The curriculum was designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, featuring:

• Health Monitoring Techniques: Specialized methods for managing disability-related care and chronic diseases.

• Hands-on Medical Device Training: Practical sessions on using essential diagnostic tools, such as blood pressure monitors, to improve field responsiveness.

• Case Studies & Strategy Discussions: Sharing real-life health management cases and brainstorming support measures for high-risk residents.

Exceeding Goals in Participant Satisfaction The program saw remarkable success, with all 22 participants successfully completing the course—surpassing the initial target of 15 graduates. A post-training survey revealed high levels of satisfaction, particularly in the "Medical Device Utilization" segment, which scored an impressive 3.82 out of 4.0.

Building a Sustainable Health Network "The role of Health Keepers is vital in identifying and supporting those who fall through the cracks of the traditional healthcare system," said a project representative from RI Korea. "By empowering these local leaders with practical skills and knowledge, we are building a more resilient and equitable health foundation for the people of Ang Snuol."

Moving forward, the newly trained Health Keepers will begin their systematic home-visit monitoring activities, utilizing the specialized kits and monitoring forms provided during the project to ensure a healthier future for their villages.
